Job description

  • Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics

  • Develop Ola’s media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media

  • Coordinate all public relations activities

  • Direct social media exec to engage audiences across traditional and new media

  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media

  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests

  • Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations

  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.

  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness

  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them

How will you do this?

  • Research, pen and distribute press releases to targeted media;

  • Collate and analyse media coverage;

  • Prepare and supervise the production of publicity materials including handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes;

  • Arrange photo opportunities and events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours;

  • Be all over our social media platforms

  • Commission market research

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • You’re a confident communicator and presenter

  • you possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • You possess excellent organizational and planning skills

  • You have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships

  • You’re proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail

  • You possess the ability to keep information confidential

  • You have a strategic and tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms

  • You thrive in high-stress environments, often for long hours

  • You possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • You’re self motivated with a positive and professional approach to management

  • Previous experience in a Senior Public Relations role is key.

  • That experience gained in a start-up environment would be an added advantage

  • A degree or HND in one of the following would be an advantage: business/management; communication and media studies; English and creative writing; marketing; politics; social sciences.
